The Beatitude Retreat Barn The Courtside Suites at Beatitude Barn

Welcome to The Courtside Suites at Beatitude Barn, a mountaintop escape with top notch views and built-in adventures. This space is the main floor of our luxury barn, built for our growing family with a love of pickleball, which we have modified here to BarnBall. It has 3 bedrooms (1 primary suite, 2 bunk rooms) and 3 bathrooms, sleeping 18 people.

Coming in the front door, you walk right onto the court with wall to wall glass sliders overlooking the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains. The court is flanked on both sides by family suites. On the left, you’ll find two bunk rooms connected by a hallway to an oversized bathroom. On the right is the primary bedroom with a crib and an en-suite bathroom. Also on the right side, the recently renovated kitchen, dining and living space with en-suite bathroom has been uniquely designed with custom glass doors that can be opened for a pass-through from court to kitchen or can remain closed for quiet separation between rooms. It can also be accessed from the hallway off of the primary bedroom.

Stepping out onto the balcony is walking right out onto a forested overlook. The extended patio deck space is perfect for grilling, dining, or just taking in the view.

Spectrum Cable TV is available in the great room and High Speed Spectrum internet and Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. A washer/dryer has been recently added to the main level for your convenience and there is central heat and air throughout. The upstairs remains locked as it is the vacation apartment of the owners, but of course it will remain empty during your stay. It is not available for rent with the main level court and suites.

From grilled s’mores at the fire pit or on the balcony with the little ones to games of “BarnBall*”, SpikeBall or corn hole in the BallRoom you’ll find plenty to keep your family together and engaged. And for fun family dinners outside or around the island or wine sipping while overlooking the mountain sunset, we’ve found this space ideal for our time together. We hope your multigenerational family or friend group with kids will enjoy the Beatitude Barn just as much as we have! And although it is decorated in a distinctly Christian theme, with each room identified with a specific Beatitude, all are welcome. Additionally, the BallRoom has been booked for small weddings or can be used for special celebrations as well.

The Barn is an excellent location to explore the area. It is just minutes away from Maggie Valley Club and Golf Course, Lake Junaluska Conference Center & Golf Course, Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on History Channel's “American Pickers”), and several restaurants, shops and micro-breweries in Maggie itself. It’s a great location for skiers, the mountain adventurer, destination weddings and retreats.

Located within a 18 minute drive are the historic Downtown Waynesville, scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Ingles and Publix Grocery Stores, Walmart, and many great restaurants, local micro-breweries, craft shops, and boutiques. A list of our family favorites will be provided at the cabin.

Within 35 minutes are Asheville and the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries in Ashville and Cherokee, Harrah’s Casino, Pisgah National Forest, more golf courses, Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday), Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and hundreds of antique shops.

Within a 45-minute drive you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with an enormous dining Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and multiple charming towns and the Asheville Airport.

Just over an hour away are Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood a wonderful family theme park with great music).

The ability to get to and from the property is the responsibility of the guest and is not provided by the homeowner.

Other things to note:
Must be a minimum of 25 years old to rent The Courtside Suites at Beatitude Barn. (Pets are welcome with additional fee of $100 per pet.) The barn is smoke-free and no parties above the guest limit.

* BarnBall is slightly different than Pickleball since you are using a foam indoor ball and serving within the court. It has to be an easy serve and easy return before the competitive play starts. So no scoring on the serve or the return and it then becomes more of a fast action net game. We have found that this way it keeps it fair, fun and actually competitive. And it also allows younger players to jump right in and enjoy the game - and they LOVE it!
